English 10 Old Milon
“In Old Milon” by Guy De Maupassant Old Milon had many defining traits he was murderous, crazy, and cunning but his most defining trait was vengeful. Before his first murder he was extremely angry at the Prussians for taking his property and animals. For this Milan wanted to be repaid for the wrong doings of the Prussians. During the first murder Milon beheaded an officer and took everything he had on him. During the subsequent murders Milon had killed the officers in horrible ways and also killed their horses. When Milon was brought to trial he told the colonel that he had killed sixteen men and was repaid for the deaths of his father and son who had died in war against the Prussians. Yet when the colonel offered Milon a way to save his life Milon spit in the colonel’s face and immediately was shot and executed. I think that these topics defined Milon being vengeful very well. Reason for that is because he killed the sixteen soldiers for his father and son. That is why I think Old Milon is vengeful.
